PACKAGING INNOVATIONS will offer the chance to meet members of the Enaris team, as Sirane Group has a stand at the Birmingham show later this month.

Enaris is the new name for the medical & healthcare division of Sirane, and the company’s food packaging division has a stand at the NEC show.

Product manufacturing, expertise and product development are the foundations on which Enaris is built, and Packaging Innovations is a perfect match for us. Enaris was launched in March in a bid to take our expertise in absorbency and material science into the healthcare sector and develop innovative products.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, Enaris MD, said: “Enaris has been able to take Sirane’s existing expertise and use it to create an exciting new company focused on providing a service to new sectors where there is definitely a gap in the market.
There may well be Packaging Innovations visitors interested in Enaris.

“Enaris is also a development company, and from day one we’ve been happy to talk to customers about developing new products using our knowledge and expertise, and also offer many of our products in bespoke versions.

“Often people are unhappy with the products on the market, but continue to use them because there’s nothing else on offer… Enaris can help change that.

“The Packaging Innovations show in Birmingham will give us the chance to meet visitors from across many sectors, and this will undoubtedly include healthcare, and show them our capabilities as a company, and the products we can offer.”

Products manufactured by Enaris include anti-slip disposable absorbent floor mats used in NHS operating theatres, compliant specimen transportation packaging including 95 kPa bags, and products such as spill pads and incontinence sheets.

The anti-slip disposable absorbent floor mat was developed with the safety of the user in mind, and is used in operating theatre, scrub areas etc. It was designed to grip to the floor when wet, and can be thrown onto already wet surfaces.

The company has a diverse product range, with products also including Cellosene absorbent wadding, BenchSafe spillage protection, and DiffX non-chlorine disinfection. is split up into six sectors: medical; lab; dental; care; emergency, and veterinary – to help customers easily find what they need.

James Hemmings is the Enaris National Sales Manager, while Jonathan Mason is Business Development Manager. For more information on any product, contact James Hemmings on 07483 984622 or Jonathan Mason on 07837 047648.

Packaging Innovations is at the NEC, Birmingham, from February 28-March 1, 2018. Sirane’s stand can be found at E11 – right next to the Eco-Pack Theatre.

Anti-slip absorbent floor mats from Enaris

ANTI-SLIP absorbent floor mats from Enaris – now available through the NHS Supply Chain – have now been listed in additional sizes, due to popular demand.

The disposable mats were developed with the safety of staff and the comfort of the user in mind. They help keep floors clean, dry and slip-free in a number of areas within the hospital, including operating theatres, scrub areas and maternity.

Sizes initially listed with the NHSSC were 84cm x 102cm (NHSSC code VWL312) for our superior mat (also available on a roll 84cm x 30.5m – VWL311) and 58cm x 100cm (VWL313) for our standard mat. Our superior mat, which is orange/white, absorbs 5L per sq metre, while standard (blue/white) absorbs 3L per sq metre.

We have recently added a standard mat, 58cm x 50cm (VWL314) and a standard roll (VWL315). All products are available to order now from the NHSSC.

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, Enaris MD, said: “We’re getting very positive feedback from a number of trusts, who tell us the mats are used and appreciated in a variety of places. Excess fluid can be a problem in a range of locations within a hospital.

“These mats are already very popular in a number of hospitals from whom we are getting regular orders, and we’re very pleased to be able to offer them via the NHS Supply Chain, meaning users can purchase them much more easily.

“We had requests from a few trusts for different sizes, which we are happy to supply. As the mats are used in such a range of places – from operating theatres to maternity, scrubs areas to urology, it made sense to offer more flexibility.”

Anti-slip absorbent floor mats help improve turn-around and reduce cleaning times, are safe for staff to stand on, and even help prevent fatigue due to their cushioning.

One happy customer is Sharon Fletcher, clinical lead nurse for theatres, fertility and procedures at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. She said: “We have used the absorbent floor mats in our operating theatres; they have been very useful as we were able to put them down on an already wet surface and they didn’t slip at all.

“They were very absorbent and were great for our obstetric theatres. We have been really happy with this product, finding them a safe and easy product to use.”
